Bur Dubai has substantial areas of old buildings, atmospheric alleyways and souks (markets), including the world-famous Gold Souk and colourful Spice Souk. Fascinating glimpses of Dubai’s previous life can be gained at the Al Fahidi Fort and the Dubai Museum. While the traditional windtower houses of the Bastakiya district and, the magnificently restored Sheikh Saeed's Palace are not to be missed.
